I have been running this little event planning biz for a little over a year now. it's been insanely fun, addictive, emotional, stressful and rewarding ALL at the same time! I was also working at an office full time as a blog editor.

BUT...as of Friday - October 1, 2010....

I am a full time b.a.s.h.er!

emotions are running high right now...as I feel like I am settling into this position.

Have you ever felt like if you don't do something now, your time will pass? Well, once the door closed at my old position at the office, I felt like this one had been ajar all along. And it was about time to swing it wide open and enter the realm in full!

I cannot predict the future of this business, but what I do know is that I am following my heart, my passion, what I truly feel like is my calling! But, without the support of my family, friends, facebook 'aquaitances', fans and followers of this blog...I would not feel confident enough pursue this venture. So, Thank-you! Thank-you! Thank-you, for sticking by me, while I haven't been able to update this blog as much as I had wanted too. Thank-you for letting me be creative without reservation and for accepting me into this party planning world.

Peacock Themed Wedding Details

From the May wedding we b.a.s.h.ed up for one of my besties!! This day was A-MA-ZING! It was so full of love and enthusiasm and funk! The guys had so much swagger and the ladies..well, we were dolls. :) It was a big challenge being a bridesmaid as well as the event designer. But, with an awesome b.a.s.h. team..it all went off without a hitch!

The Bride, one of my oldest and dearest friends, was stunning. And of course the Groom was a looker himself. :D Enjoy the detail pics for now...

Monkey Birthday b.a.s.h.

Sweet Bryce loves monkeys and we couldn't have been more excited to put together this monkey b.a.s.h. for her. Nautical Baptismal

This event happened in late April, and we actually have a few more other events that happened before this one that we still need to post pics for. But...bleh, here it is anyway! :)

The "Life is Sweet Sailing" - dessert bar was the centerpiece to our nautical baptismal. This one was for our Godson Dominic. (love you baby!!) We chose a very simple color theme and worked the 'sea life' angle into our b.a.s.h. touches!

All of the yummy desserts were made with big loves by family and friends!

We also have a beachy b.a.s.h. coming up in June...so, we may reapply these touches to that one, except girlie style..since it's for a 9yr old birthday! <--- excited for that one.

What summer b.a.s.h.es do you have lined up? Any cool ideas you want to share? I maaaaay have to borrow a few, since I know you're all so great at this event designing thing! :)

A Pirate Party Mateys

Ahoy Mateys! That's right, a pirate party!! Take notice of the colors and how vibrant they arrrr!! I am loving the color combos of blues & reds...teals and raspberry, aqua & cherry, however you want to call it..I LIKE IT! :) Oh, and of course you must add in a touch of electric lime green!! (As my daughter puts it.) =D

This party was for a 4 year old little boy ~ but ~ definitely can be a girls theme too. See the goodies on the table? We've got some pink playing cards...cute huh? I think they're from Oriental Trading Company. I think...

Superhero Party Preview

Here's a peak at the invitation we created for Jack's Superhero b.a.s.h.! I tried to give it a "vintagey" look. What do you think? Annaliza spent an hour one afternoon taking photos of him and his sister Kira {Go Diego Go b.a.s.h }. They are such cute kiddies!

Birthday Camping Party

Ok, get ready for a photo heavy post! There were just so many fun things about this party, that it was too hard to pick out just a couple to share.

PLUS ~ it was my daughter's 5th birthday!! :)

There are tons of people we want to THANK for helping out! We are truly BLESSED with awesome family and friends! You all know who you are.

Our UNglamorous S'mores bar - we were camping, remember?

The kiddos 'fished' with a pole & a magnet . {my Jenia decorated the fishies}

They also practiced their target shooting . {rubber band gun & styrofoam cups}

Then they made pet rocks {you need a best pallie out in the woods}

They decorated canvas backpacks {fabric markers . poms . jewels . glue dots}

The kids also went berry picking {planted strawberry seeds in these teeeeeeny pots}

Upon entering, the kids were welcomed with 'campfire songs'

by a local friend music director I hired

At the end of the party the kids all settled down to listen to "campfire"

{kid-friendly} ghost stories told by a local storyteller that I also hired.

That one is mine in the front with the stuffed animals. :)

We invited the kiddos to come in their jammies. {what's camp without a tent?}

The sign to enter the "Camp" . I forgot to get pics of the ENTIRE setting, where we hung up banner flags between the eating area and the activities area. We also brought in some branchy trees to give it a more 'woodsy' look.

The parents and the kiddos all said they had a good time.

Wow...Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and soon, Happy Valentine's Day! Holy Moly ~ time just FLIES! We have done many a b.a.s.h at the end of the last year and already this year our calendar is FILLING up! Wahoo!

With so many photos we need to upload...we are just so backed up in editing...but we really needed to get this b.a.s.h out right away, since it's so timely and people may still be wanting to throw Twilight Saga inspired b.a.s.h.es.

Rock Star b.a.s.h Preview

Beatriz is a 9 year old DIVA! As an actress, an athlete and a dancer...she is bound to be on the Disney Channel....any day now! I am not at all exaggerating!

So, for an aspiring pop sensation like her...what better party than a Rock Star b.a.s.h? Her friends guests are all performers too, so it did not take much for their personalities to star shining through!!

A 1920's and Speakeasy Joint

What a super amazing fun night we had at the 1920's Speakeasy b.a.s.h we threw for birthday duo Damien (29) & Kirsten (30).

Inspired by the prohibition movement in the 1930's and the jazz swing era of the roaring 1920's we immediately set the tone for the party by having guests go to a secret website. The site gave the guests instructions on dressing to the time period, giving the doormen the secret password, and bringing with them a bottle of 'hooch.' :)

We had a popcorn buffet with 1920's posters as a backdrop - made the signage and the grab and go cone display. There was a photosection with props and a background. The setting was surrounded by candle light and uplighting behind draping floor to ceiling curtains. Vintage slang cards for guests to ramp up on their 1920's lingo, and games like backgammon and cards that were popular during that time. Alcohol was served in paper cups, and sliders were brought out as an after dance snack. As soon as midnight struck, cupcakes were displayed and the birthday song was sung.

Below are a few photos from that evening. But please...check out the slide show. There are so many great pictures. We had a professional photographer come in for the photo section part, however, do not have a hold of those pics yet. But, for now..check out the soiree from the b.a.s.h.ful view!

Everyone looked so fabulous. People really got into their costumes and character. The bartender even looked like a gentleman from the past!

Rawr...A Jungle Inspired Soiree

A last minute venue change took place for the GDG (Go Diego Go) b.a.s.h. It was super ugs weather on Monday...windy, rainy..then windier and rainier before the partay.

Anyways, little birthday gal, Kira, was sooo cute. Annaliza gave her the jungle themed tutu to wear and she accessorized with some pink mid-top chuck taylors. ka-yooot!

So the most challenging part about planning this party was to find a connection behind what Mom wanted (strawberries) and what Kira wanted (GDG.) Annaliza did her homework and discovered that there was an episode of GDG, where their mission is to save Abuelito's farm.

So, we incorporated that storyline when presenting the strawberry cake mom special ordered from an out of state bakery.

The activities for the kids included:

Face painting & tattoos
Decorate a goodie box - using stencils, markers, stamps and stickers
Make a rain stick - using recycled paper board, rice and dry beans
Explore a station - assortment of I-Spy books, magnifying glasses, finger puppets
Save the strawberries - white ceramic planters lined with plastic cups so kids could 'plant their strawberries', using ice cream, Oreo's or graham crackers and of course strawberries on top.
Photo op backdrop - hung up a green canopy, turned a super sized tote bucket upside down for sitting, floor pillows and an elephant for props, along with a variety of animal masks.

The kids had a fun time, even the older ones. Hope you enjoy this little montage...created by Annaliza!

A Princess Party Preview

We had an eventful long weekend!!

Both b.a.s.h.es were for 3 yr old girls...one on Saturday was a Princess b.a.s.h. and the one on Monday was a Go Diego Go b.a.s.h.

On Saturday - the winds were angry! They were strong, and loud and I was worried! The 12 pm party was to be held at a park with a large gazebo shelter. I was about to contact some in door locations for a last minute move...BUT...there was ray (literally) of hope as I started to pack up my car to haul stuff over to the park. The clouds slightly parted and sunshine peeked through.

I went to the park and began setting up...the winds didn't calm down...if, anything...they got stronger. I figured, we could beat the wind...just not a wind and rain combo! It was definitely a challenge, but we used LOTS of glue dots (my new best friend) to hold things down.

The birthday girl showed up with a twinkle in her eye and a huge smile on her face - delighted to see tutus and wings, and pinks and purples and sparkles everywhere!!

It was a big success - the day was filled with:

Dressing up: The girlies were princesses and the boys were knights
Glamming up: Lip gloss & sparkle dust for the girls while the boys got knight tattoos
Pictures: A castle backdrop hung up between pillars and the kiddies stood in front of it after getting fancied up for photos.
Craft Time: Wooden treasure chest decorating with jewels, pompoms, and markers and foamies stickers. And of course to fill their boxes...gold coins!! :D
Fun Time: An assortment of puzzles, books, coloring books, and finger puppets all princess or pirate themed (knight themed books were a bit hard to find) were laid out for little hands to explore and play.
Cupcake Decorating: Chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were handed out along with little icing spreaders. The kids went to town with icing and sprinkles and gel writers! It was GREAT!

There were over 200 photos taken, but Azila was able to put together a short montage of the day with some of the pics. So, here's a video preview of that special b.a.s.h. ALSO - notice the cute custom tutu that Birthday Girlie - Macaela is wearing. That's the one that Azila made!!

Triple S for Mr. T

For 6 year old Tristan..we made those goodie baggies..and OMG..smack me upside the head please! I was soooo excited to hand them over to his mom at the party, that I FAILED to take a photo of the final product! please tell me this has happened to you too!

I did manage to capture a few photos of a fave element of we put in the bag. It was Azila's idea and with my graphic design skiiiiiillz, I made it.

That's right friends...they were push-pops turned into Lightsabers! You KNOW that's cool! :)

So, other than that item for the bag, I didn't get any other ones! :( Let me tell ya, I am a Nintendo kid, so I have no idea what Sonic the Hedgehog was all about, or know too much about Star Wars. So, I studied up on Tristan's faves and totally covered the details to make his goodie bag one he'll remember forever!

He even corrected people when they refereed to an item not by it's character name! :) He wanted to go outside and play with his stuff, then he looks over at his mom and is like, Mom...hold my fireball, It's my secret power!

I just about died with excitement!

Azila makes Tutu # 2 - Oatmeal and Strawberry

My girlie-pahtna Azila has amazing ideas and beautiful craftsmanship! I may have mentioned a Go Diego Go birthday party we are b.a.s.h.ing up in September...well, it's for a little girl...so, how else to fancy the scene? A tutu of course! Take a look at this gorgeous tutu that Azila made for the birthday girl! It's color themed to Baby Jaguar and it's soooo stinkin cute!

Super "Tristan" Teaser

What do you think about these little tote baggies I customized for a little guy named Tristan?

Can you tell what theme it's for? Yup ~ Super Mario Bros!! :) I got these blue totes and both adhesive felt sheets in red and white at Michaels!! I cut out white circles and then proceeded to cut out the letter "M" in red like Mario's hat....but, this is Tristan's birthday, not Mario's! ;) teehee! So, I went with "T!"

Anyways...off I go to customize more items for the goodie bag! Still need to tie in a hint of Sonic the Hedgehog and Star Wars, Attack of the Clones! Wish me luck! haha

Gosh darn! It's been a while again, since I've been able to post anything. My photos are held captive in the camera and I have been a busy bee!

I will post some party items and decor soon. We are currently working on a Go Diego Go party with a twist. (oh..you'll likey!) Plus in the pipe is a Divalicious party, TWO Royal Girl parties, a Sweet Shoppe party, and HOPEFULLY a Super Mario party! :)

I was waaaaaay too excited to wait for more photos...so, here are a couple pics of the Lemon & Lime color theme candy buffet we did this weekend for a baby shower! It was a hit!

All of the goodies, except for the lemon flavored salt water taffy were custom wrapped to fit the theme. The kinds of yummies we had were:

milkita lollis <-- the perfect size for the mini to-go boxes & tasty too!
mini hershey bars
apple gummies
lemon drops
salt water taffy
and bubbles <--everything is better with bubbles! :)

The To-Go boxes with a paper floral accent (it's the paper confetti from the Brides line)

The tablescape! I made those paper 'daisies' with marabou in the center. I thought they'd be a fun piece to add to the color scheme. Also, if you look closely there a few mini butterflies through out the set-up. Again, whimsical and playful! :)

Yup..that's right...yellow, again! No complaints here!! Lets use it while summer is here right?? It's a hot color right now!! I digg it, the peeps digg it! So, we are here to deliver the goodness! This weekend is another soiree and here's a sneaky peaky for what we're working on...

I am especially excited about this project, cause it's my first custom wrapped mini chocs! I am just going to say it...I applaud my efforts. [clapping!] i am very pleased with how they've turned out sooo far. :)

All right..I know. I know, you are begging to see more. But, just be patient...you don't want the client to see it all right now...

Wouldn't this arrangement be perfect for a centerpiece? I'm thinking bridal shower, ladies luncheon, baby shower, or a lined up side by side in a row down rectangle tables at a wedding!! ahhhhh! I can't wait to do that! :)

Grey & Yellow Pt III - Baggies and Taggies

Some of the most delish treats come from those 'small' bakeries in town. For a long time, Azila and I have been big fans of this local bakery, "Monica's Waterfront Bakery & Cafe," in old town Silverdale. Not until April of this year did a friend of mine introduce me to their custom cookies! I thought they were done so cute that I have been itching to find a reason to order some.

And so for the baptismal, along side a cookie buffet (photos later), were cookies I ordered from the bakery and personalized with the letter "E" for Elijah.

Using the same pattern as was used for the votive candle wraps and the banner, I created tags for the cookies. Originally I wanted to stick them in a baggie and just use the sticker label to seal the baggies. But cute Azila wanted to showcase my taggies, and so, she decided to skip over the sticker label altogether and just punch holes in them and twisty tie the baggies shut.

She made the right choice, cause they turned out so cute. She did a great job putting the tasty "shortbread sugar iced" treats in baggies and tying them with taggies. Thanks girl!! See...

Like the title of this blog post? teehee. It's my interpretation of grey and yellow! :) From my previous post, you saw the goodies I bought to prepare for the yellowgrey partay this weekend. Well, here are a few teaser shots of what I've been working on....

I wish I could show more...but just in case...I get a few peekers at this, I don't want the clients to seeeeeeee! :D

But for now...here's the banner I made (with the help of hubby cutting the circles out) and a votive i shazzamed up!

This weekend we have a baptismal to dress up :) And the color scheme I chose was yellow and grey...

so, I went yellow...all oooover!

Oh...finally, here are the invites I made for this baptismal. They were grey texture cardstock layered with yellow cardstock, then cream textured text paper. It was bound with glue and topped off with grey/silver ribbon and a cross charm!

I love cupcakes...making them, eating them, analyzing the icing and sprinkles on them, the cupcake wrappers, the boxes, cute packaging, fondant, buttercream, cream cheese...all of it! I just made 48 cupcakes - 24 for the "Relay for Life" fundraiser, 12 more my Sprinklebelle (daughter) to decorate, and 12 to bring over to the mywedding.com peeps!! Yesterday was the "End of the School Year Picnic" for my daughter and Azila's son. (Actually, Azila's son graduated from the Montessori and will be going to big kids school now) [tear!]

Anyhooo, remember the vintage inspired candy bar buffet we did last week? Well, what the heck were we going to do with all that candy? ( I wouldn't oppose to stuffing my face with it...but, I figure I didn't need the teeth issues!) SO, instead, we put it to good use and made favor bags for the kids at the montessori, to give away at the picnic.

Azila did an awesome job packaging the yumminess and I wanted to share with you how they turned out!

The kids, parents and teachers were pleased with the thoughtfully sugary treat! Of course, we shamelessly put our business info all over it! You know...networking! right? :)

OMG...way to excited to sleep. Annaliza and I knew we wanted to "bring it" (Bring it On reference, in case you didn't catch that..thank-you very much!) this afternoon at the candy buffet bar photoshoot! I mean, I'm thinking Amy Atlas would have dugg em too! We only had a couple hours and pulled it off...can't post a long blog right now...but....here's a sneek peak..

Here's a bashful tip: Dress up your tables with things you have around the house. For this candy buffet, we used vintage toys circa 1960's and 1970's! They provided inspiration for the kind of candy colors we wanted in our buffet. These toys were so cute faded in color, and the wood was distressed. But they definitely added a nostalgic element to the otherwise modern tablescape.

A fave blog I follow is "Totally Tabletops." She has a real parties post every Tuesday - actually, she featured my daughter's jungle birthday, check it out here.

I need to get used to this posting EVERYDAY routine! I have so much to share and sometimes I'm so overwhelmed with ideas that I just shut down! haha! It's like I don't want to post half-assed, so I don't post at all! I need to get over it, and at the very least let you all know that I am still alive! haha!

Oh, so..welcome my old friend, and new event designer to the b.a.sh.ful events team, Annaliza! She is a make-up junkie, super stylish and creative mom of 2! We've often shared event planner tips, and have chatted about designs..now, she's a part of b.a.s.h.ful! I am sooo excited! We met Saturday evening at a coffee shop for nearly 5 hours bouncing ideas off eachother, organizing thoughts and just being creative and inspired! So, let's give Annaliza a big warm welcome! Wahoo!

I am working with a couple who is to be married in October of 2010. And let me tell you, they are on the ball. Venue - check! Budget, Guestlist, Theme, Photographer, DJ - check! I am so honored to be a part of their wedding plans!!

Secret Pal Week at mywedding.com

So, at mywedding.com, we play hard and we play harder! I mean...we work hard and work harder! :)

But seriously, we have a great balance between working and playing! This week, is our first monthly "Secret Pal Week."

What is secret pal week? Earlier this month we picked names from a hat and filled out a questionnaire. For the last week of the month, we get our "person" daily gifts that serve as motivational trinkets to help them stay focused and inspired to reach their "goal."

I LOVE giving gifts ~ if you're my friend, i've probably given you a gift before!

Giving gifts is my favorite!

Anyway, I got to work this morning, and awaiting my arrival was this sweet present! I think it's sooo cute! (I have an oversized martini glass full of mini reese's cups..so, i'm thinking whoever my secret pal is...did a bit o' snoopin!) Thanks secret pal!!

Speaking of gift giving...and how much I LOVE giving gifts...you'd probably guess that I love party favors then! Absolutely! Each event I am a part of I do party favors for!!

Late last year, I was tasked with baby shower party favors in a blue and yellow theme.

Here's what I came up with:

Lindt chocolates in light blue foil wrapping and yellow foil wrapping, paired up with Stash tea in coordinating colors of light blue and yellow too. I packaged them in clear baggies and did a fold over cardstock cover label. Tasty treats are always a good idea for party favors! Pretty packaging that much more festive!

First off...I just wanted to say "HI!" to all of my 3 followers! :) Get ready to be WOWed! haha! Seriously, Thanks for the follow!

There were so many fabulous events that took place in my May! I had my first Fancy Schmancy event, co-hosted a surprise bridal day & engagement party, and co-hosted a baby shower!

I am patiently waiting for photos from the Fancy Schmancy Party & from the Engagement Party!

I do have some decor shots from the Baby Shower though. Enjoy!

My dear friend decorated the nursery in an owl theme, so it was only right to carry the theme through to her shower. I'll post a picture of the invitation I made in an invitation series, a bit later.

Those party favors are miniature clip boards I made out of coasters from Michael's (from the $1 section,) a binding clip, a pad of post-it's, and mini wood pencils <-- from one of my fave online boutiques: Beacoup Favors! It was a project that took some time because of having to cover each coaster with owl themed paper, but it was soooo worth it! Everyone thought they were not just creative, but useful!!

I did party favors for a few children's birthday parties this month too. I am super excited to show them off in a favors blog! but, I need to upload photos...so, those are coming soon!

Writing the first post is always the hardest! I have started like 3 or 4 blogs in the past and never got past the 'Congratulations! Your blog has now been created!' I am shamed too, since now those blog titles are taken up and someone who may want to use it for theirs....well, can't! (sigh)

Anyway....feeling pretty good so far.

I talk alot....so, this should be easy for me...you know, having my own blog. But...I feel sooo exposed! :) Ok...I'm over it now.

So, here's my thing... I've begun the journey into a personal business venture. And I call it ~
